Update Urgent Prayer
The Vascular Dr recommended putting a filter in her vein in hopes that it will catch any clots that would begin to "travel". So, right now the Dr is putting the filter in through a vein in her neck. The filter will end up somewhere in her lower abdomen. He is also hoping to start Katie on a low dose of anti-coagulant (blood thinner). The Neurosurgeons are not real excited about this, but they have concented. So, we are in a catch 22. Anti-coagulants are by far and away the best way to handle this situation, but it's also not the best thing for her brain bleed. So, another chance for God to show his greatness by taking care of Katie in a situation where the Dr's don't have all the answers.

thanks for the update. will this affect her in any way? her movement or speech?
Keeping on praying!
God,
I thank You nothing catches You by surprise. I thank You that You have the ability to see and know all. I thank You that You are giving the doctors wisdom for every decision that needs to be made. I thank You that every need is covered and that you are more then capable in mending the vessels and placing new God given life within Katie.
God help us to be dependent on You.
You are the creator of the universe and you live inside of us. Help us to rest and abide in You.
God you can be trusted.

Davey,
Four years ago Bob had a brain bleed caused by an anti-coagulant getting much too high after being on antibiotics. He had three brain surgeries before it stopped. He also had a vena cava filter put in due to blood clots in his legs. I have to say that after the first 2 surgeries they started him back on coumadin but it always caused another bleed. That was what caused his bleed in the first place so we elected to let him be off them as we knew what happened when he was on them so we said ok to going off them for 2 months even with his artificial heart valve.
We are praying for Katie but I wanted you to know that even after 3 surgeries, the vena cava filter and all the other stuff like infections, etc. Bob is doing good today. I say he is walking and leaping and praising God. Well, maybe not leaping but doing good and praising God. It took him 5 months in the hospital (including rehab) and 6 months of outpatient rehab. He was 65 then so hopefully Katie's young age will be in her favor.

Davey,
Craig and I wanted to let you know that we sure appreciate your updates. We know it must be difficult for you to keep up on them, just wanted you to know how grateful we are to be able to follow Katie's progress so closely. Thank's again. We will say extra prayers for Katie tonight for the clots to dissolve. Sounds like she is getting excellent care. It is great that they noticed and acted on her swollen leg.

We're praying for Katie!
Heb 10:35-36
Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.
