i know, all of you have been probably checking the blog as much as I have been checking my email for an update from davey...i was getting a little concerned since I hadn't heard anything all day. you know what they say...no news is good news.
i just got a call from davey and boy, is it good news.
davey spent the night at the hospital last night, so he spent most of the day at home with the girls. he just got down to the hospital about a 1/2 hour ago. he said last night was good. she tried to escape a couple times & they got her up in a chair this morning & stood her up. they weighed & checked vitals to make sure she is still healthy. i think everyone at the hospital is impressed with her physical strength & abilities.
davey said when he got back to he got back to her room this afternoon that it was unbelievable. she was sitting up and talking. he said, "we are almost there!" she still has some issues with her vision & speech, but to see her interacting & sitting up is amazing! he said she is doing so much he doesn't even know where to start. she is starting sentences...can't quite finish her thoughts at this point, but it is totally katie talking.
dawn (a close friend) and davey were praying over her and when they were done, she prayed for them! can you believe it? i have chills right now...my insides are doing the happy dance. it is unbelievable!
sing with me...OUR GOD, IS AN AWESOME GOD! WHO REIGNS IN HEAVEN ABOVE....

Okay, so in church today the message was about relationship, not rules...how often we (Christians) and others see Christianity as a bunch of rules, but in reality it's about a relationship with Jesus. This experience with Katie is a perfect example....your relationship with Jesus is what is getting you thru this. If Christianity was all about do's and don'ts there would be no comfort in times like these. But b/c the very core of Christianity is our RELATIONSHIP with Jesus we can lean on Him, trust Him, and praise Him during crisis. Isn't it wonderful that His love for us isn't performance-oriented? Isn't it awesome to have a Lord that we can lean on??? Who actually wants us to lean on him???
Katie, You are on your way! Keep it up! So proud of you.

It's BONDAGE-----
A question we need to ask ourselves is...
Am I on the treadmill trying to people please, be good enough, for my family, friends, kids, pastor, to accept me??
If so you need to ask God to set you free from the people who hold you in bondage.
God wants to delete that mindset and give you a new blueprint.
God calls us to cut the cord and say goodbye to childhood systems.
The system is following God period. what he wants for us where we need to be it's not following the traditons of family, or friends. Our journey is between God and us. God's plan for mom, Dad, Friends, are all different we are not to follow everybody elses footsteps!

I was talking about your story yesterday to someone and this person said "I have a friend who works at ING and she just told me about katie"! Isn't that beautiful! Rumors are spreading like wildfire isn't that how the holy spirit works...

Our God IS an awesome God! Praising Him for the work He's doing in you, Katie! We are celebrating with you all and are in AWE of God's power and grace! Can't wait to see how else He is going to move through all of this. Still praying and praising!!! Love you guys!
