post-surgery update

from davey:

Well Katie is out and everything went well. Dr. Carlstrom was very happy with everything and is expecting recovery to be fine.

She will be in ICU for at least tonight and then be moved back to the floor sometime tomorrow. No creative miracle today, but believe me we are more than happy with what the Lord is doing and has done.

Again, thanks for all your prayers as we continue to see the Lord work.

I am so happy to hear the INCREDIBLE news! I have been praying and will continue to pray for Katie and the rest of your family Davey. I completely agree with Kathy and Bob that her entire progress and her being alive is truly a miracle and God IS being glorified through everything she is going through. Katie is AMAZING!!

Davey, We prayed especially for the surgery today and are often praying. We are pleased to hear God is continuing to heal in His marvelous way. You (you,Katie, the girls and Sawyer) are on our minds so much these days. We send our love.

Davey, your family's story continues to amaze me. Our ladies' Bible study group (in Sydney, Australia) is studying 1 Peter this term. I used your response to Katie's illness as an example of endurance through suffering (hope you don't mind!). I am praying for the girls and for Sawyer as they adjust to having mummy away from them.

I'm not surprised at all that everything went well today for Katie.

He who began a good work in katie will be faithful to complete her healing...

Jesus is still the Miracle Worker. He is continuing to heal and restore Katie's body. And the Body of Christ is being encouraged and strengthened as we read about, hear about and experience His love and faithfulness.

Let every voice be raised in praise to God, the giver of all good things!

Our family looks forward to updates and stand in awe of what God is doing. I agree with your folks, Davey, God is good all the time. Paul Oakley's song came to mind this evenig when I thought of you.....
It's all about You, Jesus, and all this is for You, for your glory and Your fame.
It's not about me, as if You
should do things my way.
You alone are God, and I surrender to Your ways.
Jesus, lover of my soul, all consuming fire is in Your gaze.
Jesus, I want you to know, I will follow You all my days.
For no one else in history is like You, and history itself belongs to You.
Alpha and Omega, You have loved me, and I will share eternity with You.

So good to hear. Last night my boys and I prayed for Katie and the medical staff. God is doing miracles right before our eyes and before the eyes of the doctors!

Praise The Lord! My family has been reading this blog daily and praying. My husband Joey went to school with James at Emmaus and was in his wedding...I remember meeting Katie and you then. From your picture, my girls look to be about a year or so older than yours..(8 and 5) and every day my girls look at your family picture and pray for their friends in Christ that they have never met.!!

This whole story has brought tears to my eyes daily at the Power of the LORD! Your strengh and confidance in the Lords hand in all of this is truly inspiring! Keep it up! I agree with what paulette said about "He that began a good work in Katie will complete it! "
In Him,
